In the changing landscape of cannabis legality, the importance of actual medical grade cannabis is in jeopardy.

The integration of the long standing medical cannabis legality (SB 5073), with the regulations of the new recreational cannabis market (SB 5052), has further limited qualifying patients potential to provide for their own healthcare.  “Medical" cannabis products that are found at recreational stores are over priced to offset the tax exemption for qualifying patients, and have proven less effective than the actual medical grade cannabis that patients have long been able to produce for themselves for free, or at a reasonably low production cost.  The majority of medical cannabis patients are already unable to produce the amount of cannabis they require, and rely on home gardens to offset expenditures on so-called “medical” cannabis products from recreational stores.  Currently no healthcare provider (not health insurance nor medicaid) will provide any assistance for medical cannabis patients with their treatment requirements.

The Klickitat Medical Cannabis Resource Center is here to help patients keep their health care in their own hands.
