The Klickitat Medical Cannabis Resource Center is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing safe access to medical cannabis, resources, and education in the Columbia River Gorge, as well as safe and secure community garden space for qualifying patients.

In the changing landscape of cannabis legality, the importance of actual medical grade cannabis is in danger of being disregarded, and the potential benefits of it appropriated by the profit driven recreational cannabis legislation that now governs both the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (WSLCB) and the Washington State Department of Health (WSDOH).  The newest of such legislation is the deceptively named Cannabis Patient Protection Act - SB 5052, which in fact does the exact opposite of its title, further limiting qualifying patients access to affordable medical grade cannabis by taking a big step in the wrong direction: integrating the existing medical cannabis legality with the regulations of the recreational cannabis market.  Previously, qualifying medical cannabis patients in Washington State had legal permission for personal control over the production of the healing plant as an affordable means to provide for their own healthcare; now, in a blatant "cash grab", the WSLCB and WSDOH are enforcing regulations that limit patients ability to produce their own cannabis as needed, and require patients to sustain unnecessary expenditures on "medical" cannabis products from recreational cannabis stores.  The recreational cannabis (I502 licensed) stores DO NOT have actual medical grade cannabis products on the shelves, they have products that provide the high sought after by recreational cannabis enthusiasts, that are produced by (I502 licensed) companies for the purpose of profit- the stronger the high from the cannabis the more potential profit for the producer.  When occasionally I502 products are labeled as "medical", these products are sold at an even higher price than the recreational products, and have proven to be ineffective in comparison with the actual medical grade cannabis that patients have long been able to produce for themselves at their own home for free, or at a reasonably low production cost.*  Currently no healthcare provider (neither health insurance nor medicaid) will provide any assistance at all for medical cannabis patients to help with their treatment requirements.

As a result of this conundrum medical cannabis patients are now being forced to spend money to fuel the I502 system, at a detriment to their own health and well being.  The Klickitat Medical Cannabis Resource Center (KMCRC, the Resource Center) exists as a beacon in these dark times, helping enable patients to maintain their ability to provide their own healthcare for themselves.

The Klickitat Medical Cannabis Resource Center is here to help you keep your health care in your own hands.

KMCRC was established in 2014 by Travis and Kelly Turso-TacΓ³n based on their own healthcare requirements, and the discovery that many qualifying patients in their own community were suffering from an inability to afford to purchase the amount (or kind) of cannabis required for their treatments at I502 stores.  Fewer still were able to ensure an actual medical grade cannabis production in a home garden due to lack of resources and education.  By obtaining the actual medical varietals (strains - misnomer) of cannabis available from the larger existing medical cannabis community upstate, commencing a breeding program to bring the medicinal properties (traits) of these varietals forward, and opening their homestead property - The Titan Farmstead - to provide a safe and secure community garden space, Travis and Kelly have been able to truly make a difference in the well being of many of their fellow medical cannabis patients.  The current infrastructure provided by The Titan Farmstead limits the number of member patients, as a result any excess medical cannabis produced is provided at production cost to wait listed patients. The member patients co-fund the garden, utilizing pooled resources in a production strategy that yields all the patients the full amount of medical cannabis necessary for their required treatments regardless of a patients ability to contribute resources or gardening labor.  Able patients share the gardening labor, and resident experienced gardeners supervise to ensure that the highest grade of medical cannabis is achieved. KMCRC verifies the quality through a reputable analytic laboratory prior to any patient consumption.

You can call Travis at the Klickitat Medical Cannabis Resource Center (509)2811038 any time for further information about medical cannabis, resources and education, and safe access to actual medical grade cannabis.

*For a good example to help better understand this concept, consider this simple question: When you buy commercially produced vegetables at the grocery store, are they as good as the organically produced vegetables from your own home garden? Even if you are not a gardener you have likely had home grown vegetables from a friend or family members garden, or a farmers market, and you know the answer is unequivocally "NO, the store bought food is not as good as home grown".
